New for me this year is Wood Strawberry Tea - a few batch bags made from just leaves, others from the berry which often just tastes like a big burst of water. The WS is more seedy, often faces upright, and does not look like a traditionally shaped strawberry. There are wild strawberries, often much smaller in size, that are the shape and taste that resembles that of a store bought strawberry. The wood strawberry has very little strawberry taste - just seedy and juicy - usually about a 1/4 to 1/2" at most in size. Leaves are slightly tart in salads, dried make an excellent tea.
Similar poison features to rhubarb, suggested not to eat in large quantities. Known to block calcium.
