The earliest oldest compound bow that I now own

Postby k-villa » Sat Oct 15, 2016 7:18 pm

Thought about it often for only 3 weeks. Finally got back. Wish it wasnt painted. Wood limbs. Small woman riser? Draw is short 26-27" yet bought new by 6'-2" guy. Light weight. He used for hunting and is 81.
Help identify- built like tank w solid hardware, note two limb bolts!

so here is one of the earliest if not 1st compound bows ever made:

http://www.archeryhistory.com/compounds/pics/70/allen51.jpg

i still can't find the dual limb bolts per limb on any research. mine looks extremely similar. S hooks reversed a little compared to mine. Mine is wood riser under the home-done paint job, it is prob 50lbs or maybe close, more like 40 but think about guys shooting 40 and 50lb recurves at the time. wonder if there is a seated limb pocket in these production models shown of the flyer and therefore the only reason for a single limb bolt? still fairly convinced my bow is an Allen and possibly a very early, maybe pre-release model? The model in the flyer is a 1974 bow and maybe mine came out after? Really would like to know.
