Buffalo Bluegills

Postby Russman » Sun Jul 31, 2016 4:49 pm

Yum Yum, super easy and it's a fish that is easily cought by all and over looked. Scale and cut off heads, you can remove dorsal fin if you wish. I brine them for a day first, boil up on stove cup of salt, pepper, garlic, onion, celery, carrots, lemon and lime. Boil so everything melts and fuses, allow to cool and put fish in it keep in fridge over night. Next day melt butter add in so old Bay and franks red hot to taste put them on grill and bast till done. The bigger fish have bigger bones and are a breeze to clean while eating

Blue gills are def good eating and bones easy to pick out even on the small ones. Good for sure. I'll have to try your process next time I catch some sunnies and blue gills.
