K-Villa,

No no. the Boundary waters is a summer trip. We went in 70-80 degree weather. Cheap too. the most expensive thing was the leeches! :P

Travel expenses and time off. If things work out well, I'd like to take the family on an out west trip this summer, to CO and NE and maybe on way home stop off in WI. You have a canoe or kayak for 3 more? Where exactly is the boundary waters? 3-4 days ok to do or not worth the travels and time getting there?

Ok, travel would be the big expense. It's about 8 hours from me if you want to do Boundary Waters. The area is basically all in the far northeastern Minnesota. You can make it whatever you want it to be. hundreds of launch points. Hundreds of lakes and camp sites. My brother in law does a BW trip every year with his buddies over a long weekend. Between all of us, there's plenty of water craft.

Sorry for getting away from the hardwater subject. Finally getting some cold weather here. I hope to be out fishing this weekend.

results?
i was considering it, but now 2 feet of snow on the ice and just trying to get out of driveway never mind find the lake. Friday we did get out after school for some quick ice skating on the frozen stream down the road. the ice was virgin and flat and very smooth for fast skating even though we're very much so amateurs.
