Never tried Raising Pigs

Postby Yooper » Mon Dec 28, 2015 8:07 pm

Any help on raising pigs? I am debating on raising two in the coming year or two but I've never raised them. What breed of Pig would be good? Any help is appreciated.

How about Russian boar and when he's ready to be harvested, give me a ring  ;)

In all seriousness, I do have a local farmer at my club that raises pigs and chickens for the farmers market every year. I can ask him next time I see him.

I don't think the DNR like Russian Boars. Years ago a few escaped a local farm and everyone was concerned. That would be great if you could ask your friend about breed type and any other info/resources etc would be cool. Thanks.
