Re: Our CA6 Experience - 2017 Arkansas Ozarks

For the record, I couldn't possibly keep up with all the barking spider locations on the map. Sylamore is crawling with them. No, I didn't loose any arrows on this trip. But almost did on the first morning. A few minutes after first light, a doe crept up into the saddle I was perched over the top of...

Re: Gill Over The Ground - literally all over the ground

I'll have to look into this. I hate the stuff, but since it's a pain to get rid of, I may just have to make peace with it and figure out what it's good for. Kinda like Donald Trump...cuz there's poison ivy out there too.

Second garden underway

We installed a garden about 8 years ago and it has become too small for our needs. 19'x19' is all. We finally decided to give up our pristine backyard view for a 60' x 30'. Not bad for the burbs. So we'll keep the O.G. (Original garden) for herbs and the like. And will be bulk planting the P.G. (Pre...

Re: New Rototiller for me

Nice deal. I am still using an antique Simplicity front tine. My dad is borrowing it and should be getting it back this week. I also use a Mantis for smaller jobs and mass row weeding.

Re: 2015 - How much where your F&G licenses and permits?

In Wisconsin, $165 gets you the Conservation Patron License. That's EVERY LICENSE, TAG, STAMP, parking pass, trail pass, etc etc etc. But for comparison if you buy separately: Bow deer: $24 (up to 2 deer) Gun deer: (up to 2 deer) Small Game: $18 Fishing: $20 Trout stamps: $10 Pheasant: $10 Spring Tu...

Re: homemade small game heads for flu flu arrows

I don't know if this fits the bill but I found add-on catch springs for field points. They work well on small ground dwelling critters.

Cold Winter Scout

Single digits yesterday and after a long couple weeks putting every spare minute into finishing my basement, it was time to get outside. A good friend who always lets me in on a good hunting spot (very good friend) asked if I wanted to hike/scout/shed hunt one of the newer-found properties with his ...

Re: The 11 Commanments of Cast Iron

Reseasoning in a hot burning camp fire will clean a cast iron piece for sure. I did it accidentally and it took off EVERYTHING! Not sure about whether this is good for the piece or not. But it will clean it.
